On September 7, 2026, the Appeal Committee found that Mavis Erickson and Molina Cameron clearly and seriously failed to meet the responsibilities and standards expected of elected Councillors.
The Committee determined that their conduct failed to uphold the integrity of Binche Whut’en governance and demonstrated disregard for the Oath of Office and/or the Code of Conduct. As a result, Councillor Erickson and Councillor Cameron are ineligible to continue serving as Councillors.
Their Council positions are now vacant, and a by-election will be held to fill the vacancies.
